Chicks with Guns!

Have you noticed that there are alot more female characters toting firearms? Think of Lara Croft and Tomb Raider, Kill Bill, Resident Evil, Charlie's Angels.... and now Tess from Jak & Daxter... In the second game, Tess was a loveable easy-going waitress at the Naughty Ottsel Tavern... In Jak3, she turns into this weapons expert... and it's kinda sexy??? Is it me, or is this a new sex charm to get guys to go to the movies or buy video games?
